Essentially, reciprocal linking as it has been done for the past few years is pretty much dead as a means for search engine optimization.  There is virtually no page rank benefit at all to be derived from a link originating on a page containing sometimes hundreds of links to websites whose themes cover the entire spectrum of topics.  The answer is articles: quality, well researched, well written, relevant, articles.

Google's page rank algorithm for any web page is almost entirely based on the number and quality of the inbound links to that page. Quality means valuable, related content on the page the link originates from. Links coming from "Links" pages with the same theme as the target page will certainly carry some page rank credit but by far the best benefit comes from links on pages with good quality, well researched, well written, related, content.

I have an inventory of unique, professionally written articles about a variety of bed sheets related topics that I will be happy to give you for free. Each article is about 600 words long and contains a few links, one pointed my home page and the others at one of the other pages listed in the side menu of this website. Google and other search engines love fresh, quality content and that alone is reason enough for you to post one of my articles on your site but I have a compelling added benefit for you. If you post one of my articles on your site I will, at your choice, either:

• post your link in my Directory Of Shopping Resources (having the same shopping or home furnishings theme as your site), or
• post an article of your choosing, complete with links back to your site, on the Directory Of Submitted Articles page of this website.

I posted a 10 article project on Elance, the brokerage website for a variety of professional freelance contractors including writers, and had them all finished and in my hands in a less that a week for $20 each.  You can do the same then just install three or four links to various pages on your website, email it to me and I'll post it in the Home And Shopping Resources Directory of my website. At this point you will have three or four inbound links from a page with content completely unique, relevant and on-topic with your site, and so will I. Couldn't be easier. Just remember to leave my author credit and links intact and I'll do the same.

The rules for the article you provide me are:

• the article must be completely unique and not appear anywhere else on the internet.  Neither of us wants a Google duplicate content penalty. 
• the article you provide me must contain approximately the same number of words as the one you get from me (I don't want to publish a book!),
• you must not put more than five hyperlinks to your site in the content.

That's it!  Remember, if you don't want to be bothered with an article I'll simply add your link to my Directory Of Home And Shopping Resources, but I would much prefer getting and article and you should prefer to give me one.

You may have noticed that my website is currently unindexed by Google.  Well, it has been published to the web for less than a month and should be indexed shortly.

There is zero downside and considerable upside to exchanging articles with me. Even if none of your inbound links was ever indexed (unlikely) you would have added fresh, new spider food to your website as well as valuable information for your visitors, both of which the spiders love to gobble up, at no cost to yourself except a few minutes of your time.
