There is a significant size difference when buying California King size bed sheets versus  eastern king size bed sheets. California King size bedding is made for a mattress with the dimensions of 72 inches wide and 84 inches long. Whereas the Eastern or Standard King size bed sheets fits a mattress with the dimensions of 76 inches wide and 80 inches long.

California king size bedding is usually designated as Cal King or California King on most of the bedding packaging. The Eastern King bedding is usually designated as King on the packaging.  When purchasing bedding for your California King size bed make sure to double check the size on the package or you could wind up with a sheet that is several inches too short in length.  Most of these sheets are made specifically for one size, therefore there isn’t any give to force the sheet around the mattress.  So don’t rip the sheet by forcing it to fit on a mattress it was not intended for. Get your money back or buy the correct size.

You Don't Have To Be A Basketball Player To Use Them!

California king size beds are a better fit for taller individuals as they are approximately 4 inches longer than the traditional king. Unless you are a professional basketball player over 7 feet tall, this size of bed is long enough for most people. The width is 4 inches narrower, but can still comfortably hold a family of four for Sunday morning cuddling and lounging.
